Problem: When trying to set up a WAMP on my machine, apache doesn't startup

Apache tries to listen for requests on port 80 by default, so if this port is already taken by an application, it won't be able to use it.

An example of application using this port is Skype, so if you are using it, try to close it before launching Apache and see if it works. You can also disable the use of port 80 by Skype in it's settings.
